FOOD & DRINKS

Cumbria Crystal Grasmere in Lost

I’m currently rewatching the series Lost and spotted the Cumbria Crystal Grasmere Old Fashioned Tumbler (one size smaller than the DOF in Casino Royale) in Season 4, Episode 9 "The Shape of Things to Come" (April 24, 2008). Charles Widmore pours himself a glass of MacCutcheon whisky (a fictional brand) in the Cumbria Crystal Grasmere Old Fashioned Tumbler next to his bed when he has an unexpected meeting with Benjamin Linus.

Q&A

For this newsletter, we’re speaking to Cooper aka License_To_Watch on Instagram. Traveling to international Bond locations for 25+ years. Cooper was a sponsored volunteer with Lotus Productions on the Matera mausoleum movie set for "Bond 25" for a few days back in August 2019.

Q. Which three Bond clothes or accessories do you wear the most?
A. The NTTD Omega watch, Barton Perreira Joe sunglasses and Adidas 007 tennis shoes for the gym (I have all 4 pairs, but I prefer the Black).

Q. If you could keep only 1 item of your Bond collection, what would it be?
A. I received one of Sean Connery's personal shirts from a former Bond girl (who was also one of Sean's love interests in 1971). She signed it and kissed me while I was wearing it at dinner and said I was the best-looking guy she's seen in that shirt since Sean.

Q. What is your most popular post/video?
A. I try to keep a relatively low-key social media profile; initially, I planned to have an anonymous IG profile & never reveal my identity, however I began meeting so many Bond people at filming locations & events that it caused me to change my mind. The post with the most likes dates back to a visit to the Ocean Club where I got a private tour of the villa where Daniel Craig & Solange stay at in CR. I just recently began playing with Reels; a video from the recent Gatherall 4 got over 1000 views. However my most famous Bond "post" in history dates back to 2008-ish where I made a James Bond actor compilation desktop background and posted it on my old FlickR and I think it had almost 500k views & downloads (and it wasn't even that nice of an edit).

Q. Which Bond location do you still want to visit?
A. Thailand is the big one on my list this year for the OTT event. I'd also really like to stay at Goldeneye but I'm saving that for my engagement/wedding if that day ever comes.

Q. If you could meet any Bond actor (even if they’re no longer with us), who would that be and why?
A. Desmond Llewelyn - he served in the Welsh Army and was a POW in WW2, starred in 17 Bond films, and knew many of the founding fathers of the Bond franchise. I can't imagine the stories he has. Everyone I know who has met him at events in the 1990s said he was the most pleasant person to be around.

Q. Which Bond-related song do you want to add to the Bond Lifestyle Playlist on Spotify / YouTube?
A. James Bond (Trap Remix) by Trap Remix Guys.

Q. Rolex or Omega?
A. Omega.
