Thanks to our podcast friends Pete and Rob at There Will Be Bond, I was made aware of this 1999 interview of George Lazenby by Jeremy Clarkson. Lazenby hadn’t spoken about Bond for decades and talks to Clarkson to reveal what really happened after On Her Majesty's Secret Service. From turning down a seven-film James Bond deal to his biggest career regrets, this is the remarkable story behind one of cinema's greatest "what ifs."

Several James Bond lots are offered at the Excalibur Collectors' Cavern Auction on 5 September 2026, including entertainment memorabilia, posters and more.
