James Bond creator Ian Fleming himself wore a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer 1016. It's also likely that Fleming is referring to this model when he mentions James Bond wearing Rolex in some of the Bond novels.

IN MEMORIAM

Bond collector Steve Oxenrider

We’re sad to report that we lost another Bond fan: Steve Oxenrider passed away August 12, 2024 following an almost 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Steve Oxenrider was a retired educator from the USA, a world traveller and a lifelong James Bond fan and collector. In 58 years, he has amassed thousands of Bond posters, stills, publicity and press material, toys and merchandising, programs, magazines, books, records and autographs. He has interviewed more than 100 Bond cast and crew and contributed to many books and fan publications. He is also credited for some of the supplementary extras on several of the Bond DVDs.

Steve accumulated one of the biggest Bond memorabilia collections in the world, part of which he sold off recently.
