Pierce Brosnan's sunglasses in GoldenEye

Plus Famke Janssen's Versace sunglasses and Bond In Motion news

Someone asked me recently which exact Persol sunglasses were worn by Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye. I realized that, even though I looked into it ten years ago, I never finished the story and the glasses were not on the site yet. Several models were mentioned online, but I’m fairly certain that the Persol 861, as mentioned on AJB, is the correct model. Read the article here.

Coincidentally someone else asked me which glasses are worn by Famke Janssen as Xenia in the Ferrari F355, and although we have less to go on, I think I found them.

While I was at it I added a story about Jack Wade’s sunglasses in GoldenEye.

And I went on to add Jack Wade’s plane as well, the Cessna 172P Skyhawk.

I’ve dissected the new full trailer for Amazon’s upcoming show 007: Road to a Million and spotted a few Bond brands.

Don’t forget to celebrate Bond Lifestyle’s 18th Anniversary with my biggest single giveaway prize yet: a Globe-Trotter No Time To Die Carry-on Trolley, offered by UNCRATE. Enter the contest here!

Q&A

For this newsletter, we’re bringing Jeroen aka DutchBondFan into the MI6 interrogation room.

Jeroen lives in the north of the Netherlands and runs a YouTube channel that is currently the 3rd biggest within the Bond community in terms of number of subscribers.

His most popular series is the Recapping 007 series, in which he reviewed each of the Bond films in an in-depth retrospective format.

Q. Which three Bond clothes or accessories do you wear the most?
A. I'm not really too involved with the lifestyle aspect of Bond, meaning I don't really collect his outfits. However, I do like to wear Bond-inspired clothing like navy blue polos, plenty of suit trousers I prefer to wear over jeans and a B-brand watch that looks very similar to the blue Omega Seamaster.

Q. If you could keep only 1 item of your Bond collection, what would it be?
A. Most of what I have is replaceable, but probably the autograph I got from Caroline Munro (Naomi in TSWLM).

Q. What is your most popular post/video?
A. Both my Recapping 007 episode on Die Another Day (my signature in-depth review series on YouTube) and "One Easter Egg in Every Bond film" got over half a million views!

Q. Which Bond location do you still want to visit?
A. GoldenEye Jamaica or Piz Gloria.

Q. If you could meet any Bond actor (even if they’re no longer with us), who would that be and why?
A. Probably Pierce Brosnan. My favourite is Sean Connery, but I feel I would have great conversations with Pierce.

Q. Which Bond-related song do you want to add to the Bond Lifestyle Playlist on Spotify / YouTube?
A. I'm going with a surprising pick and choose Patti Labelle's Licence to Kill end credits song: "If you've asked me to". I feel it symbolizes the end of the 'classic era' of Bond films so well.

Q. Rolex or Omega?
A. Probably Omega, but I own neither, so you're asking the wrong guy, haha.
